producing wells. Additionally, the Barnett continues to see strong production numbers, making
up 31% of Texas gas production and containing 40 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Gas
production continues to be around 2 trillion cubic feet per year. Over the past 6 months, there
have been 27 new permits filed in Tarrant County, primarily to drill new wells in the Barnett
Shale.
